Summer vacation with family - wife + 3 kids age 6,6,7 years) in July. Wanna do a couple of days (or more) of kitesurfing.
Where should we go to get the best package of kitesurfing + good beach for the kids etc. ?
Porto Pollo?
Porto Botte?
Elsewhere?
Thanks a lot !

Thanks !!
I read somewhere that in the summer wind is south/West so looks like to be on the offshore wind side of the island in the summer?

I would suggest to go in the SW area (Sant'antioco/ Porto Botte), is the best to take all winds, and not too crowded in summer (some beaches could be crowded/banned). also the NW area from porto Pollo to Castelsardo is ok. East coast is good fot thermal winds (12-15 kts), there are nice and big beaches but NW strong winds are offshore there

Porto Pollo you can find from 10 to 50 knots flat water ,about 50 80 kiter on water, mistral from left side ,gusty.
La caletta south wind scirocco thermal 10 25 knots . 20 30 kiter
both very large beach ,less crowded cheaper place choppy water.
both 1 hour from ferry,(OLBIA) if you stay two days cannot go far.
if you land by plane ,OLBIA ALGHERO CAGLIARI stay close ,normally is hot, sunny, traffic, narrow roads, not good hours driving car with children

We plan for 1-2 weeks. We fly in to Olbia.
What do you mean by "stay close" ??
Thanks

I disagree, by car is quite fast to go from Olbia to NW (quite near) or SW (a bit longer but better road). If you stay few days stay near Olbia, if you're staying there 10 days or more you could go everywhere
Not too far in the NW there's Valledoria and Castelsardo with big nice beach, some facilities and kitesurfing free
Porto Pollo in my opinion is not best place with family (too windy and beach not good as in other places)

I understood your vacation was two days only so I suggested to stay one hour max. driving ,close to the airport, but 15 days can go everywhere.
do not like portopollo, flat water ,crowded, gusty, parking fee 1 euro for hour, but is windy .
It means you go out with 20 23 knots thermal when castelsardo ,valledoria ,marina delle rose, capo manno is 10 to 13 knots.
Anyway nice or not it is a" must" for kiters in sardinia ,you can visit couple of days.

Hey
The best place on Sardegna Island is Porto Botte. ofcourse for flat water and 20-30knts.
45km from Porto Botte is Chia and whith good wind direction there is a nice wave.
38 km from porto botte there is 2.0 cable system SESITEC whit nice obsticles.
Last seazon i was in sardegna whole seazon I really enjoy Porto Botte.
If u want i can help u whith cheap appartement in this area and kite lessons.
I hope see you soon:D
