It looks like you loose about 4 inches of depower travel (throw), due to the space taken up by the compressed spring.

I haven't heard of anyone complaining about this.

The spring compresses when you let the bar go ... then it's in its IDS depower flag out mode. I haven't noticed any difference in that, and I don't actually think you lose anything as it slide up and out the way ...

Any reason why both the spring AND the trim system need to be upgraded? How about buying the spring part and putting it on with the 2010 trim system, would that not work?
