ok a few things.
It is ILLEGAL to kite in the lagoons near the light house in Cotillo and along the north shore. The Guardia Civil have moved people on and even fined and confiscated equipment from people there so do not go kiting there,
secondly, there are only TWO schools in the north of the island who are LEGALLY alowed to teach. That is Flag Beach, Corrolejo (located on Flag Beach itself) and Magma Kite School, Lajares (located on the last roundabout leaving Lajares).
These are the only schools alowed to teach on the island by law as they are the only schools that have ALL of their paper work, insurances etc. in order.
Personally i work for Flag Beach so wont mae any comments about my school as they would be seen bias but the guys at Magma are really cool and friendly and you would make no mistake taking lessons with either one of us.

4) The other place you can try is the lagoons near Cotillo, near the lighthouse. There's a four hour window at high tide which you can take advantage of. There's lots of talk of people being banned, etc but I've seen a few operators out there, and having done Flag Beach and the lagoons, I'd rather learn at the lagoons.
Hope that helps!
You are seriously recommending that a beginner should learn in a small lagoon (more of a pool) surrounded by sharp rocks and directly upwind of a road? You have got to be kidding me!!

Ge means Kiting in the Lagoons. You can still kite in the waves. Just teaching and Freestyle in the lagoons by the Lighthouse is not allowed.

I would nmot recommend it as a good place to learn kiting. The beach has many obstacles and the water gets deep quickly. I have not been there for 8 years but the original kite school was pretty awful.
On top of that Fuerteventura is a shit hole( the northside). Its full of drunken brits with tats and football shirts.
As an alternative why not look at Dakhla. Guaranteed wind, shallow water and a chilled vibe.

I take your point, but I preferred the lagoon. Especially at the level I was at, which was working on turns and learning the different ways to plane, etc.
