Snowkiting in New Brunswick, Canada

Postby sinferno » Tue Feb 22, 2011 3:43 am

Looking for some decent spots in New Brunswick for snowkiting. I live in Fredericton.

Anyone else in the area doing this?

There were some guys doing it up on the headpond I heard from my Sister who lives there.....
Check it out on a windy day. I'll try to find out who it was.

Hey Paul,

You mentioned in an earlier post to this thread that the Mactaquac headpond was a good spot. What are the others?

I've went to the Woolastook trailer park today, good spot as well for snowkiting and probably for kiteboarding.

I've started a google group called 'Fredericton-kiteboarding@googlegroups.com' to create a point of distribution for anyone in the Fredericton area who is interested. Feel free to shoot an e-mail to that group with any information you have, we would appreciate it. On the side, we're creating a Google Map with all the Kiteboarding and Snowkiting spots identified around Fredericton.

Cheers and safe kiting!

Hey, I'm in Saint John NB and I sometimes go to Grand Lake, 45 min E of Fredericton. It's a pretty big lake and right now there's tons of snow on it. I'm thinking of heading up there for a session this week. I'll post on your website and let you know when and maybe we can hook up for a session.

I've started a Facebook group called "Fredericton Kiteboarding", feel free to join. I'm also updating a google map with spots for kiteboarding and snowkiting (http://goo.gl/maps/WU8P), feel free to let me know of other spots and I'll update it.

Safe kiting!

Thanks very much Paul, that's great info. I've update my kiteboarding map with these spots: http://goo.gl/maps/zCQn and will be getting involved in the forum you listed.

Facebook group e-mail only works for members :-(

Appreciate the info and time!

No problem with the links, glad you were able to put them on your map.

Oh and this is the email I tried... from one of your posts above, doesn't look like a facebook thing...

Fredericton-kiteboarding@googlegroups.com

If there's another email I can use to get a hold of you pm me here.

Tomorrow is looking good for fanjoys point at grand lake because they got snow yesterday. In Saint john we got rain leaving a real thick crust which is really hard on the board.
I'm hoping to make the trip up and get there around noon if the wind forecast is still looking good in the morning.
