EVO 2011 for wakestyle ???

Postby siroozteam » Fri Mar 04, 2011 7:19 pm

I have a good deal on a 9m 2011 EVO but i hesitate to go for it cause the kite might be too grunty for unhook moves......

I got feedback of rider telling that he was overpowered in 20 knots with his 8m for unhook moves..... :-? :-?

Is the EVO 2011 so grunty ?????

Or can i go for a 9m 2011 for wakestyle in 15-25 knots???

thx

I love the 9mts with light winds... up to 18 with surf or 20 with tt... then i have to change to the 6mts... this one holds much more than the 9m...
Its true that goes overpower... but its true that you can go with 9 when others go on 12´s
im a surfboard user so.... not really try it for wakestyle, when i go tt normally just freeride..
Great kite, the one pump its a huge upgrade!! and the way the new material affects the flying performace its awsome.

you mean that the high end of the 9m with a TT is 20 knots :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :o :o :o

the 9m is a light wind kite :?: :?: :?: :o

DAmn......it's freakin crazy....On the North site they're talking about a high end of 30 knots for the 9m.....where's the truth??? :argue:

what is your weight ???

I'm quite lost ........

the evo is awesome
great wakestyle kite, huge wind range 15-27 knots and i,m 90 kg on a tt, highly recommended. 9m is the best size.
but all 2011 north kites are excellent

So for my 73kg,if i want to unhook in 15-25,i'd better go on a 7 or 6 m

im 80 kg, and as i said im a surfboard user (strapless) i just go tt when no waves at all... so yes pass 20 knots i prefer to take 6mts and surf.... the kite you can hold it as much as you want... 30knts??? yes if you dont have another kite and like to go that way....
I been kiting perferct with 6 and people around with 9 and 12´s....
North can say lots of things.... if you weight 120 kg, you can be with the 9 in 40knts... so they are not liars, isnt it? and if you go in flat water and the wind its constant... instead of media wind 25knts but the gust is 40....
JamesBond is rigth maybe the size you need is 8mts!!, thats the good thing about North you can perfectly choose a quiver... Evo 2011 4,5,6,7,8,9,10,12,14.... do you thing they should do a 0.5 mts too?
Go on the water and try it! i´m sure you can find a demo at your North Shop!!

Vegas 12m starts from 12 kts on 73 kg guy, maybe less with a bigger board. Its a very nice kite, better than evo for UH.

ok thanks for replies.

the 9m seems to be too grunty for me....not saying it's bad,but i think not appropriate for me to unhook in 15-25 knots....

And I have only a good deal on a 9m.... too bad :-?

I think i 'm going to keep my good old vegas 2006 10m..... :thumb: :thumb:
