This was our second trip to this place and what a good day it was. We nailed the approach which is about ten miles from the trailhead. On the way up there I broke another k2 ski that was on my snowmobiles ski rack. Did the same thing last year. But between the two pair I have one set of mismatched skis. Nailed the approach and busted your ski! What luck. However, someone had to take photos! Now that you have the route down, what wind directions work best for this spot?

It is usually SW but would take S to W just fine. Watch the Union Pass, Lava Mtn and Dubois guages. It's a windy place for sure. For miles of rolling terrain you can take the Union Pass sled trail and ride rigt off the groomed trail and still get the same good wind with less rocks and trees. After this massive warm spell of the last week, we still found cold soft snow!
