OK, Let me get this right. You got the Jackson Crew hookin' up with the Windzup Crew on the SW Colo. Crew's home turf! Not to mention the awesome snow out there. Man I wanna do that! The only thing missing, besides me, is the Montana crew. I luv the way you all get after it. I hope I can put something together sometime. Please keep the pics and reports comin'! JR

Boulder Gulch is a mile from Silverton. Today JA and I pulled off a kite ascent we've been eyeing for a couple of years. An hour of wild skinning got us to treeline and some gusty wind. At least it was right up the pipe.. usually. A few minutes later we were at the top; 2100 vert and 2 miles up. A quick skin brought us to the ridgeline looking into Silverton Mountain's Velocity Basin, where a Red Bull extravaganza freeskiing event was going on. We watched from above while Treadwell nailed a sick line, then dropped back to town.
More to explore.

Ridiculously awesome! Kite sneak attack on the Red Bull event! Someone needs to donate you a GoPro with a large memory card...I really want to see your POV, cause I have flown Kendall Peak on my paraglider and those mountains can shrivel the biggest cahones.

A wild day on the Telluride side of the range on Saturday. We did the classic Trout Lake to Ophir tour just like the old days but this time with the kites. After tractoring from treeline up a steep couloir we ripped around for a while on the bench between cliffs and
the void. The Fattwa held good spring powder down into Waterfall Canyon and Ophir.
Gotta get to Hope Lake with NW flow soon. (Left side of pic.)
The Lizard Head Pass venue on the left. The Wilson group is center
Andy the birthday boy rips even with a hangover!

Lot's of other things to do this time of year but when there's wind and snow...off we go.
Cement Fill is a slide path that hits highway 550 a couple of miles north of Silverton. A five minute skin gets you under the power line. Tricky wind on the lower apron became more focused up the path. I did four laps of perfect corn skiing totaling 8700 vert up and the same down of course. The fastest was 15 minutes from the bottom to the top and back down. I would have kept going if the wind hadn't started blowing
down.
The possibilities are endless!
