I guess Richardson's Flat is now closed due to some kind of EPA cleanup on that land? Lot's of ominous EPA No Tresspassing signs. Any Park City locals know whether it is still cool to kite there, or am I asking for trouble?

Richardson Flat is off limits. We have tried to work with the land owner, but to no avail.

Yes, snowkiting near Home Depot is still okay. Of course, most of us make the drive to Strawberry since the conditions are so much better.

Hey everyone, I've noticed some posts about Strawberry Reservoir. I'm going to be out in Park city on the 27, 28, 29th, with afternoons open on both the 28/29th. Would love some quick guidance on local shops as I don't have a snowboard. Planned on bringing my gear (kites, harness, warm clothes), but was curious if anyone rents boots/boards. I'm not foolish enough to think that snow won't be a bit different than water, so was thinking about finding an instructor for a session if possible as well. Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Thanks a million.

You can rent board / boots at any of the ski resorts. Drive down to Strawberry, 45 min from Park city. It's amazing. You probably don't need an instructor if you are already capable on the water.

Good to know about rentals...didn't know if they had a "don't take off premise" rule or anything. Thanks for the tip. Crossing my fingers the winds blowin...so I don't have to go tubing.

thx I worked and tuned at Max's snowboard shop at the Base of PC of n on for the past 10 years, they rent a ton of great gear in combanation with Breeze the shop they are conected to. IUf you are going to rent a board for kiting, Get the biggest twin tip they have and mount it centered at about 15, -15 so it is true twin tip and have a blast. Strawberry went off today and should again tmw.
