it will be fine if you impregnate glass down to the bottom edge of board and not the bottom.
clamp board to rocker table
Hmm, do you laminate and then clamp right after when everything is still wet? Will it not wrinkle up the glass from the bending as the distance of the length is less when bent? Will you not leave imprints in the glass/resin from the clamps?

If you are not careful.....Yes.

a bit of care and some planning will go a long way to eliminate any real problems.
a vacuum bag
or a similar method to distribute the minimal amount of force needed to bend in your rocker....
plastic sheet, duck tape, water bags, some padding, some cardboard.... lots of stuff will work.

the glass is suppose to be smooth on your core where ever you clamp it.
if it bulges at the perimeter of your clamping area, it likely means you are using too much clamping force (OR too little clamping area) or you have allowed the cloth to lift in other areas near by.
laying a piece of polyethylene ( or saran wrap) over the lam will allow you to smooth out any exposed area after the board has been clamped to the rocker table.
it also leaves a very nice finish that needs little sanding.
did i mention a vacuum bag?

it's not so hard.
try a small test sample from begining to end.
after living through your particular screw-up there will be an easy fix.

daspi, here's an example of doing poured resin rails (question from your hotcoat thread, but the response is more relevant to this thread topic)

Here's the full build of that board which gives you a better idea of what's going on:

Guys,
Never used this product but if liquid force is using liquid rails(urethane rubber for rails)maybe is worth a try.
Here is the site you can get it.
www.polytek.com
The name of the product is liquid urethane poly75-90.
I have never used it since ive just began making my fist plyboard.
But for the advanced builders please give it a try!!
Please give us a full review! :thumb:

windfreak74, thanks for the link!

I started another thread on urethane rails last year so I just copied your info in there for anyone who trys to search about doing urethane rails.

I emailed back and forth with a couple guys last year who were playing around with it so there are people out there doing it but are laying low.

Good to have an actual product name and company who makes it though, thanks.

Hi Lawless

How did you make that rail? I'm building a carbon board and want to make a poured epoxy rail for it. When I cut out the woodcore I'll save the "left over wood" and use it as a mould. I'll then cut of 0,5mm of the board and then fill the gab with epoxy. So I got that covered. But afterwards what then? Can I just cut of the rest of the carbon and sand it down to make a smooth rail?
