August Location ? Newbie?

Postby scubajunky » Wed Jun 15, 2011 11:06 am

HI,
I did a kite-surf course this year but need another 2-3 hours instruction before I qualify.
Where in the world could you easily spend 3-4 weeks kite surfing during the month of August.
I'd consider pretty much anywhere. I'd like it to be on the cheaper side if possible, a good place to party for a single guy with some diving if possible? If the diving is not possible not to worry.
I did consider Brazil, Jerrico--- but it looks like it's quite expensive.
Thanks, any suggestions appreciated.

there are more places in Brazil which are cheaper. And Jeri has no kiting in front...you have to drive upwind (shuttles) daily.
Anywhere along the coast from Brazil in August!
Ceara is the kite capital, so you cannot go wrong at those beaches...and many options to stay very cheap!

Have a closer look at Cumbuco, kite capital in Brazil...lots of cheap rooms there, if dead cheap, go to Icarai, few km upwind. You can start in front, downwind to Cumbuco and back with a cheap bus!

Or maybe Egypt...but not as exciting than Brazil!

Tarifa has everything there that you're after. Plenty of wind, diving (admittedly visibility can be bad due to the wind stirring everything up but on a clear day it's great), and there is absolutely tonnes of other stuff to do, and for a single guy it's as close to heaven as you can get!

This is going to get shouted down because people believe that learning in Tarifa isn't the easiest place in the world and in many ways I would agree however if you learn in Tarifa you only learn once, you go away able to deal with any and all conditions and fully confident in your abilities.

Hi,

Egypt is a very good destination for beginners. We have a lot of good spots here around.
For a holiday away from the mass tourism here I can recommend you our Kitehostel directly at
the spot. We offer accomodation with breakfast.
There are some good bars and discos around as well. And sure the Red Sea for diving....

An if you like to check other spots around we can help you organizing that.

If you like to have mor informations you can contact me directly

windy greetings
