If you let the kite fly to the edge of the window it will looses power.

There are two ways of preventing that:
1. Travel so fast that the kite do not reach the edge of window, while you keep up with it. (pulling in the bar can reduce kite flyspeed, but only to a certain point).
2. Sine the kite, making the way to the edge longer, so you can keep up with the kite.

Usually you start sining the kite until you build up board speed. When you have reach proper speed you can "park" the kite.

Going out in stronger wind or using a bigger kite also help. Seek advice from more experienced kiters at your beach. They can give better advice while they can see what you do.

normally it is the use of a too small kite, so you don't have that power you need to easy get going.
A smaller kite will force you to move the kite harder to get going...and since it is all new to you, you don't have the balance yet.
