rubalt wrote: 2screwfootsc: thanks a lot! i have mayhem 14, use it up to 26 knots and looking for the second kite for more wind i like how my caution handles gusts...having that feel of safety... i tried SB12 from my friend with the same high end and found gusts punch it too much i saw you were selling spitfires before, are they the same as zombie if compared to method? i know thats silly but i kinda devoted to caution somehow Caution is putting out great kites. I've been riding the 9m Spitfire and I can tell you if you're more concerned about stability, get the new Spitfire. The new Caution Spitfire is a very good kite. I've got my 9m for sale . The Method is not very stable and if you ride where it's really gusty, you'll probably be better off with a kite like the Spitfire. The wind is usually pretty steady where I ride, so it's not an issue for me. I'd agree though that the Method outperforms the Spitfire with a better low-end, better upwind-ability, better water/land relaunch, and more direct feeling/more bar pressure. I'm sold on the Method 7m. I can't wait to try out the 9m.

I find the Method 7 and 9 to be extremely stable in very gusty conditions (15-35mph).

I think you can have a high performance kite that is also stable, look at the F-One. It has power through the turns, stable, fast turning, well constructed etc.. of course it is pricy. I hope you guys are able to come up with something like that.

I was riding the F-One Bandit 4 before I was riding Switch. I can tell you Switch has definitely come up with their current kites that meet or exceed what you described while offering it at a much less price.

I had put up the Method 9m just to fly around on land because it was blowing between 9-14 mph, twice it fell our of the sky. There was someone else doing the same thing on a Cabrinha kite also about the same size and the same time and it didn't fall out of the sky. There were also about 7 other large kites on the water and they didn't fall out of the sky, BTW I have flown the F-One in similar winds and it has not dropped. I know it was not my skill since I have been kitesurfing for 5 years, I mostly ride the surf, I can do frontroll, backroll, grabs, etc.. The person that was flying the Cabrinha had less skill and I know this because I had given her some tips on previous occasions. I have had several kites including the Thruster, so I know how "high performance" kites behave. So I go back to my point that you can have a "high performance" and a stable kite, there are plenty example of that but they are usually pricy, if Switch can eventually pull that combination off and keep the same current price, then I'm sold.

I guess kiters think a kite will fly it self. The wind is ever changing and you have to pay attention. A Bad tradesman always blames his tools. Bill Hansen make's kites that perform to a high level allowing riders to take it to the next level without compromising performance Everything these days is tamed down for the average joe.

A friend liked the price and got a 9m.
Not too happy. He's already selling it.
