Hello, first you need to talk with your friend and ask him this question. A lot of people change the new kites without any problems but for example wrong size, different caracteristics (wave instead of freestyle and vice). If his your friend ask him and post because we want to know...

I have one Method and i am very happy. Very quality materials, very easy to use....

Not happy with bar pressure and stability.

I noticed that when inflated on the beack it was not symetrical.
Had a bit of a twist to one side when held off the ground
and balanced in the middle.

Wind was good and strong.
Two great days.. just a bit on the gusty side.

Handed him my 9 towards the end of both days.
New to him as well, but he likes it a lot.

I have a 9method as well and love the kite. I have been kiteing for 12 years now and it does everything i want it too for a wave kite. It is fun , fast , powerfull, and I know were it is all the time.

For your buddies Kite that doesn't just look right. Did he just pump it up? Alot of people just pump it up with out doing the 1/3rd rule for the first time it is inflated.

A kite should be pumped up 1/3 the way and then go and play with the leading edge to get the bladder straight, the 2/3s the way do the same, at full pump the bladder should be good to go then. It happens to alot of people that change the bladder as well.. These are made by hand so it could have a tiny tiny twist in the leading edge bladder. The method is one of the best kites I have riden for handleing gust . Living on the Great Lakes we get 15knots then up to 25knots then back to 15knots and I never once had a problem with it.

As I wrote before, "it was blowing between 9-14 mph", the average was 12 mph, that is why there were several kites out. I don't go out if the average is below 12 mph and my Kahoona 13.5 has not dropped in these similar conditions, which is a "wave" kite. Also I did not park the kite at 12 and expect it to stay there, I was moving it back and forth and there were two other "wave" type kites and some other tytes on the water and riding that day besides the Cabrinha that was being flown on land and did not fall.

12 m/hour is probably around 12 knots, looks like marginal testing or did i calculate wrong?

Hi Terrie: what do you mean go and play with the leading edge...do you mean go away and play and leave it for a bit, or should I physically play with the leading edge or manipulate it in some way?

Kite is still like that after several sessions.

When I pump ,ine up I pump to about 1/3rd pressure and then manipulate the kite a bit.
You know wiggle the tips flip it over ettc.
I then lay out the lines and turn the kite back over and pump it again.

I'll skip that if my kite has been loosely rolled up and not bagged between sessions.

Anyway I'll try some "chiropractics" on his kite.

But he's not too happy overall.

This video at 40 seconds shows what I was seeing a lot. Canopy flapping.
And we were not ovrpowered.

Been out on my Method 7 once- it was really gusty and variable- about the worst conditions we get around here. From 7 to 15ms. Rain squalls, shifty and gusting. Flat water with wind chop, strapless 5-8 surfboard and 78kg, kiting 10 years.

Have had small kites: 03 OR Bronco 8, 06 Best waroo 7, 08 Best HP 7.
This kite is most stable of all of them. I felt confident and solid feel. Power delivery is a bit on-off when sheeting in out, but this allows easy depower when going downwind, riding wave. Got used to that fast. Drifts really well. Super easy relaunch.
My only negative is the bar pressure. Its 30% higher than my 2010 RRD Obession 9, and i thought it was wearing me out. I can see what the trade off would be for lighter pressure. the kite was easy to know where it is and being able to use bar to pull and balance without sheeting. But i´m an old boy office worker and i get 60 sessions a year- so my arms are not like Felix´s.

That said, I´d be happy to take this kite to Cape Town and ride and Big Bay.
