Killer.
You'll be fine. It is an easy board to ride. Very stable for a 5'9''. Place your feet around where the foot strap holes are..it'll give you a starting point. Once you go in light wind you'll move forward a little, and riding waves you'll move your back foot back to the stomp pad.

Hi,
Which size skater is more suitable for 165 lbs person for small mushy waves? 5,4 or 5,9?
Incline towards 5,4 but appreciate your opinion.

Peppers,
Based off of some recommendations on this forum, I went with the 5'4 Skater. I weigh 170lbs and ride crappy small waves most of the time. Only been out 2 times, but can't say enough about how much fun this board is. I've been kiting for a long time, and mainly ride surfboards with straps. Got this board in hopes of starting to ride strapless a little more. Here's a short video from a few days ago. Winds were around 18-19mph, and I am on a 10m.
