Google is my friend :D

Here is how to make a vacuum pump with the appropriate switch. Basically it is a vacuum powered "ignition advance regulation valve" switching a "220v. microswitch". This option is simple and inexpensive.

The only issue might be finding the IARV, but a wreckers would probably have one from an old carburettor car..

BTW there are other designs on the web if you keep sniffing around.

If anyone finds one please post it.

I think it would be easy to make a IARV equivalent with a tin can with a rubber cover ( old piece of rubber inner tube, well glued and sealed in place) closing off one end and an inlet soldered onto the can, somewhere, to admit the vacuum.

The rubber would have some sort of means of throwing a switch which would be the power for the vacuum pump. Maybe a spring loaded normally closed switch.

Thanks for that. I actually have seen these designs, however do have the vac switch etc, just unsure exactly how to connect it correctly.

I have use a single fridge compressor for many years.

My setup is a home made pressure switch and NO VAC STORAGE BOTTLE and works a treat.

Here you go, hope this helps?

The biggest challenge I had was finding a spring that would suit, which I could not so I used 2 springs, 1 inside the other. to adjust the on off state you have to adjust both the spring tension and the position of the washer that is welded to the nut. Prety simple to build TBH.

Good luck dude :-)

Anyone tried using a vacuum switch with a 220v switch built-in instead of a low-voltage switch + relay? This site has some rated for 21 amps.

Would it work?

Thanks for that Link !
I'll be calling them to ask if it works ; LOTS of AC pumps around
and it would be a Bunch more efficient.

220 can Kill Ya if it's done wrong though ; Don't be standing in
water if Ya get Zapped !!
