Okay so word is this. Conditions right now are tough not a lot of snow most of what they had melted. However the storm warning I posted above is only getting better and there is a good chance the area will get dumped on thurs/fri/saturday.

Everything is still moving forward and we will keep looking at the conditions. The Face book group will update conditions daily.

There is also some crazy talk of kiting on the water at pt judith.

Here's a link to the latest NOAA advisory. Especially of interest is the portion about Friday's weather. http://forecast.weather.gov/showsigwx.p ... er+Outlook

I am about two hours east and higher in elevation. The roads are messy, but passable. With the snow that fell earlier, and the warmer temperatures, for us, it was pretty much all snow. Once the temps drop, if the roads haven't been sanded and salted, they will be dicey. The main roads should be fine. Safe travels!

Joe

@ Ted, Not sure which are pet friendly, but there are Holiday Inn, Ramada Inn in Watertown, there is a Pleasant Night Inn in West Carthage, and I've heard on their radio ad that they allow pets for a 'small fee'. The NOAA link that I posted above has pertinent info there. Today we got pretty much a blizzard on the hill, view crabnebulas post/vid in this forum. Wind was so strong, they shut down the wind turbines, and it would have been impossible to set up the Mountain Hardware Dome we use as Basecamp/registration, so we will be settin it up in the morning! Sorry this info is so late, hope you can make it! Bob

So who is staying through Monday? Tomorrow ought to be a great day, with strong SW winds.

Today, I'm going down to the Snow Ridge Ski Resort since there is no wind to speak of.

A bunch of us in the mass house are staying. 14-18-ish of us. It's hard to say. We are planning on an early start. See you then!
