mexico near akumal riviera maya

I'm going to stay in gran bahia principe akumal from 2 to 10 April / 2012 I wanted to know if you can kite in from or very near the hotel ( walking ).

i'm going with my wife and 5 year old son, so going a long way to kite is not an option.
I know about xpu-ha but it's 10 miles away, and playa del carmen is even further away.
kiting in front or very near the hotel would really nice.

I have already searched and read the other posts about the area

Any suggestions? tulumkite? Flysurf77? morpho?

I'm 62 Kg , will a 12m ( w boss ) be enough or should i take a also a 9 ( eclipse or bandit) ?
I'm also probably only taking a skim ( I almost only use directionals but no waves here ) or should i also bring the mako140 (I almost only use it in hight winds) ?
