So will it have a long single depower line?

We are working on the RACER bar and we are thinking of not using a Depower Line or Depower Strap, but instead have a very long through on your bar and you can use the "Stopper Ball" to set it up on how much power you want or how much depower you need. Very simple.
What do you guys think?

Sounds like you guys have never even seen a race before. I suggest do your homework and stop half assing this race thing. This is one place where you won't be able to fool your audience with video's. racing is about results so you need to either get in deep or just rather stay out.

"we are working on a race bar and came up with a long throw on the bar" WTF.

Hope you get better soon, you got some work to do.

Dimitri,

The most important thing is the depower on a race kite! Just having a longer throw on the bar will certainly not be enough. It need to have a huge depower because when you get some speed and you face some wind gust you could be in trouble and go downwind way too much to "absorb" this gust but then you will lose some positions for sure. It's good to have a lot of depower on the bar but you also need depower trim, ideally not too far from the rider and it need to be effective to reduce the power when needed. Also, they need to be easy to grab.

I am sorry "stefaans" you feel that way, once I get better I will prove you wrong about racing and videos.
But the idea of the bar was not mine. We are working on 3 different type of system with the bar. One is the one I mentioned with a stopper, the other one is with a clam cleat with a long depower line, and then the other one is the depower bellow the bar.
So which one you want to have us spend more time on?
Thank you.

I'll send you some info on current race bars. who knows maybe you guys could come up with something innovative instead of just a copy.

You might want to consider designing a system, starting with a new hook-less "spreader bar", where the safety is connected directly to the "spreader bar", whereby you could gain the "throw" distance, taken up by the hook and chicken loop, and use this extra 8 inch distance as part of the "throw". Racers never unhook, do they? If not, then, why even have a chicken loop?
