yup, love it as well. I'm sure you mean the video on Lake Kinnaret in Israel...where he does the double or even triple rotations with the board close to him...it took me 4 years to finally be able to do those...the triple is my signature move, I love it.

Big THANKS to Lishai for that!!!

You see him in small videos from time to time now. I think he is still doing some comps, but no tours and less freestyle. Not sure though.

Definitely for old school - Andy Hurdman and Adam Koch.
There is an amazing video of some super smooth stylish riding called Andy somewhere out there in internet land. That guy can ride.....
And Adam Koch definitely from all the old Naish vids.

if you ask me, old school is one foots, boardoffs, transitions, slow rotations with grabs, fun hooked stuff...and every jump as high as possible!

I need to add, that for airstyle, which for me is strictly hooked riding, also slides and Jesus Walks are important, to do even more of a show. It adds perfectly to jumping and transitions. Those tricks like barefoot slides are damn cool! I will keep pushing the limits of hooked riding, which you one day will see on my AIRSTYLE DVD, coming in summer 2012. The trailer should be out soon, and already give you an impression of what will come! It will be a big inspiration to many people wanting to learn some new tricks, no matter what level one has.

And thx guys for the compliments! I will keep pushing it!

If you want to see the ultimate old school American rider, you need to check-out Marcus "Flash" Austin in the 1999 video, "Flysurfing Challenge". Unfortunately I think it is only available on VHS. He is killing it on a 5m Wipika Classic 2 line kite! This is real old school riding, no depower, no chicken loop.
This video also included some of the other old school riders such as Rapheal Salles (F-One Kites), Laurent Ness, Franz Olry (Wainman Hawaii), Christopher Tasti, Christophe Roussein, Manu Bertin and the only lady in the group, Anne-Laure Pegon!
As for as I know this was the very first official or unofficial Flysurfing competition.
This guys were the real pioneers of the sport and I don't think you can get any more old school than them. They didn't copy anyone and all of their moves were original, since most of them were the first to do them.
Flash was one of the few guys that hadn't windsurfed prior to getting into kiting. I think he started on a skim board and just a regular kite in Florida where he was tending bar. I think he would generate extra business with advertising on his kite!
I think these guys and gal are as old school as it gets!

Enough said! Case closed! Everyone else was following these guys, even Robby Naish!

These are the guys I would watch when I first started in 2000.

Many thanks to the real pioneers of the sport!

Keith
