Speed Contest

Postby Cole » Fri Feb 10, 2012 6:22 am

Introducing a worldwide speed contest for kiteboarders on snow and water.

Due to an overwhelming number of requests Underground Kite Sports is proud to announce that we will now be running a yearly speed contest. The contest will be broken down into two categories, water and snow. The snow category will be broken down further to ski and snowboard. For rules and participation requirements go to www.undergroundkitesports.com.

Judging by the rules it looks like they copied and pasted the rules from the Stormboarding Speed ranking but omitted the ability for buggy, sled, kitewing or paraski flex types to participate.

I know that Racheal put a lot of time and work into the Stormboarding ranking. Good luck.

It does read in a lot of ways exactly like the Stormbording page. Many of the same exact phrases.

Its a shame its only skis or snowboard. I just finished my ice boats, two different designs. I'm planning on taking them up to Michigan in a week for testing. No ice here.

Hardwater Kite: I heard about your 77mph runs. Co :congrats: :bravo: ngrats!

Rachel with stormboarding always did a great job and we don't want to take anything away from them. However with the end of their speed contest there was a need for someone else to keep the tradition going, and we are trying to fill that need. We have changed things up from stormboarding to where we are tracking water and snow speeds and our contest runs from January to December each year. If we get a good response then we will start tracking landbuggy, iceboats, landboards, and other speeds as well.
