Up to now i have almost completed the bars, i ran out of all thread and bolts.
I will Finnish it next weekend and then pull it apart for finishing and painting. Not sure what table top to use yet, ill have look into that a bit more to be able to get it to do what im planning.
Well if you use the right surface you won't need all those metal bars.... think plastic...
...so you may want to find your surface before drilling too many holes... also why not slap a piece of ply across the bottom of the frame for stability?
I couldn't find the plastic i wanted last weekend for the table top, cant be too thick though. The frame is nowhere near finished yet so braces are going in later on once im happy with how it works.
Finished my rocker table and about to start my vac pump. Cant find an old fridge compressor to save my life, but my question is; with regards to the vacuum advance, can this be any kind of vacuum advance off of eBay. I see a lot of them for air conditioning or door locks etc. when I read about it everyone seems to use one from carberator.
I guess the vac advance can be off anything as long as it will do what it needs to in the right way.
In reality its one sealed compartment and one that has air coming in and out with a piece of rubber in between them. The one i got was from a distributor.
But if you put in vacuum advance on ebay and hit search , there are so many carby ones and dizzy ones that why use another type.
I went to my local mechanic ad he had an old dizzy vac advance that he gave me. Then it took 40 minutes approx to re build it.
Good point Billie.
I may have gone that way if i had seen them before i started. Maybe the next one i make when this fails. But then, i may as well just buy a real vac pump for it they are cheap enough these days.
I have the diaphram rubber anyway, so it cost me nothing and can save that $40 for beer. Plus a now know how they work and know that i can alter them to suit anything pretty much.
Anyway.
Did a bit more work on the table. Didnt get to do a test run due to unforeseen reasons but it's getting there.
4mm coreflute for the table top.
Not sure this will be strong enough but it will do for now untill i get come perspex.
The table legs are old supports off a trampoline that i had laying around for a special job.
