Will the new bar be adjustable length too? I thought that was the best feature of the current and older Epic bars. I agree, the QR was sub-par.

I rode the Epic V1 bar for a year. I didn't like the chicken loop QR. I thought it took too much force to release, but maybe I had one that was on the tight side of the tolerances. So I rode the bar with an airush chicken loop which I liked.

After a year's worth of riding, less than 100 sessions, one of the bar ends broke off. Wasn't too big of a deal because I was close to shore and side-onshore winds, just drifted in to the beach, but could've been a real pain in different situation.

I was very impressed with Dimitri's customer service though. I had two new bar ends arrive in the mail 2 days after sending him an email about the situation!

Sweet. I'll be there about the 23rd to the 27th I think. Pete, I won't be staying at the houses, but do hope that I can swing by for a sesh with the gang. Paul, it's high time we meet for sure. I'll be staying around Waves I think and just doing a cheap hotel thing and maybe float around a bit between Nags head and Waves. Gotta visit the gang at KittyHawk as well. I hope the weather and wind is cookin! The question is how many kites do I bring... all of em I guess. I'm looking to put some miles on these bad boys.

Dimitri, you are one to talk. You've managed to turn this forum into the Epic forum instead of the Kiteforum, I don't think I'm going to heed to your request as you have not heeded to anyone else's. In fact this give me an idea.... hmmmmmm

How is the upwind ability of the Infinity v2 in comparison to the renegade?

Hello guys,
Just wanted to share this email with you that I got from a customer from Australia.
He contacted me few weeks ago interested in demoing the INFINITY v2 because of all the good things he heard about it. But the problem was that he was in Australia and the nearest EPIC Dealer/School in Australia is around 2000 miles from him. Plus I did not have any INFINITY v2 demos left to send him. So I offered him a new INFINITY v2 to buy and if he did not like it, to send it back and will refund his Credit Card.
This is the email I just got from him this morning. (And YES I did ask his permission to post this.)

Hi Dimitri,
I received Epic Infinity kite yesterday and headed straight down to beach to try.
Unfortunately there was too much wind to test this kites light wind performance.
Feels strange wishing for less wind. I measured 10 - 14 knots on the beach which wouldn't have been a problem to fly fully de-powered but that wasn't what I bought this kite for. I put my Airush Lithium LW14 up instead, perfect.
Today the wind was ESE around 6 - 8 knots measured on the beach before launching kite.
It looked too light and i was the only one there, not a good sign. I pumped up the kite anyway and gave it a try.
I easily self launched and headed up wind riding my Airush Sector directional board. Amazing!
This kite moved very fast and I am impressed by it's ability to stay in the air in such light wind.Very stable kite.
My Airsuh kite is great to fly but would have fallen out of the sky in these conditions and would also be very difficult to re-launch.
With this kite I think I can sail most days, or at least 4 out of 7 this time of year. Before I was lucky to get out once or twice a week.
You did offer me a money back guarantee, minus freight if I didn't like kite but you also insisted I'd love it.
I had my doubts but you were right. Fantastic kite! I'm keeping it.
There are quite a few people lining up to test my kite.

Hello Mr."flaps1111".
I am sorry it took me so much time to respond to your post. I have been so busy.
So to respond to your question, the INFINITY is a RENEGADE and it is the big brother of the RENEGADE 13 LTD. So the upwind is very nice. But some people found out that the INFINITY v1 was so powerful that it had the tendency to pull you more down wind then up wind. So we fix this on the INFINITY v2. So now the INFINITY v2 has a little more power then the INFINITY v1 and goes upwind a little better. But if you are looking for an upwind machine go with the RACER 17 meter kite. When I was testing the RACER 17 against the INFINITY v2, it left the INFINITY v2 way down wind.
:(
