Hi Ced. Have you tried the escape or just the fury? Think the old proto we have been using the last few years is more like the escape and has great bottom end grunt. What's your thoughts on production escape vs fury? I know the smaller sized fury is optimized more for wave but still higher aspect. Thinking 13 and 11 in the escape. Hmmmmm?

Hi Been trying both models pretty extensively for the last two months. Escape is medium aspect ratio, really smooth kite, turns tight, nice in the waves. can do some freestyle. (I do basic freestyle) I did prefer the Fury for freestyling. The fury is High aspect, boosts big, Awesome upwind, but also nice in the waves, dumps a lot of power. depends on your riding style. For wave riding I am talking 9m or 7m in both sizes. Looping the fury above 20 knots becomes fun Range for kites is tremendous. I haven't needed a kite bigger than an 11 (I weigh 70kg). I just got the 5m escape for Cape Town winds… Hope to get one of those screamer days to see how it handles. Because I do a bit of everything, I battle to choose between the two kites...

where the charger would fit, versus those 2 kites? is there any advantage to have a twinskin for water anymore? it might take the full freestyle department? as the escape/fury are more freeriding/polyvalent kites?

Have used a lot of peter lynn kites peppers, reactors venoms, quality is second to none, for buggy landboard hard to beat, arcs are a bit like marmite you either love them or hate ,i loved my venoms, people try to fly these kites in less than 10 knots,in this wind range they just dont work great,i reckon arcs are still a great kite if you vary your kiting buggy ,landboard.snow, water,it works for all of these.and packs down in small bag,its the do it all kite Tony

Hey Ced Does the escape have more grunt as you would expect from a low aspect kite? Light wind and smallest kite possible scenario out here in light wind LA with heavy riders on surfboards. Was thinking 13 in escape or fury and 11 in escape or fury for most of them. High aspect kites are great once you get them going but a bit lower offers the grunt to get a heavy guy up and moving from a dead stop in the waves. Looking for that good turning and grunt for our wave sailors. Thanks for the quick review. My proto is to old to compare with the new RD versions.

@voodoo The twinskin will always be that strange animal and kind of stands on its own path. That cross over kite as Tony mentioned. Not everyone's cup of tea, but some people love them. So it is just another product that Peter Lynn offers… a unique design. And new kites in that design are imminent…
@Traig The escape does have more grunt as a lower aspect ratio, I would say for heavy riders in waves the escape might be the call, although the fury does get some apparent wind due to the speed at which you can move it… Would be nice for you guys to try both as dynamics change with heavier riders. I'm on the lights side. Was doing old school stuff on the 11m escape… fun. Got pics but can't post them yet.
Still waiting for a screaming wind day to really test the 5 escape
