9 light wind kites?
I didn't know there were that many. :jump:
Could you list? I think you missed the real king of the light air.

Best also had a (failed) go at it.
North too had huge kites which were meant for light winds.
How many "fail-to-meet-great-expectations" in the above list?

Turbine and Zephyr work well enough - Turbine is super light too, especially compared to my Xbow
LW Xbow is much nicer, if Xbows are your thing ...
I wasn't that impressed with the abilities of the Fat Lady but I suspect the rider was a newbie ...
Oh I forgot the big Edges - they were contenders too. Mind you, I doubt there are too many kites that WOULDN'T work with a race board ;)

The Kiteboarder will be doing a light wind kite and board test in San Diego, CA in March and the E-mag report will be ready in mid April via Itunes or the TKB Store on our website (PDF). As San Diego traditionally blows 8-13mph at best, its the perfect testing ground!

Perhaps we'll add a test element and invite reps from the various companies to come compete at Stinkies. For sure we will be inviting up to 8 people from the Southern California area to join us, per our new testing format via TKB Test Week. See details re: our first Test Week at http://www.thekiteboarder.com/2011/08/tkbtestweek-laventana2012/

And for the record, I can attest that what Ted said about the Hatteras Expo is absolutely true. However, also for the record ALL tests are going to be somewhat skewed e.g. rider weight, skill level (light wind riding is a skill IMHO), wind variances, board type/size, etc all come into play....

Hiya...it's nearly March so was wondering whether or not this test is still going to happen..? Quite a few 'interested' parties I think... I'm personally hoping for stonking 10m weather through the northern summer but it rarely is consistently like that... :-)
