I went one week, from the 18th to the 26th, and the wind was better than I thought! On the forecasts, for example, for sunday 19th, there was supposed to be no wind, but there was so rain clouds that brought some nice 15-16 knots with steady winds, so I was able to kitesurf on that day, when the forecast said I couldn't. Then, there was no wind on monday, which was not a problem since I could get to hang out with people my age at the Club Med. On tuesday, there was no wind. But on wednesday, the wind blew 16-17 knots all day, and I was able to ride for 4 hours straight, but then I stopped because I was tired. On thursday and friday the wind still blew, but not as much as wednesday, but I was stil able to ride with my 12m (I weight 120lb). On saturday, there were many kiters with 10-12m kites, but I couldn't kite because I had to leave.
Overall the wind was better than expected, ranging from 10-17 knots, and not so gusty.

I never went to PPlato so I don't know how it is, but Punta Cana is pretty great! Where I kited, there were no chops and wave at all in the morning until like 9:30-10am, which is great I think!
