> Delta kites can be a pain to self-land

Self-landing is not for beginners, doesn't it?

> I am in the minority and like the below the bar depower

I know, that lots of riders like this way. I simply don't get it. When you flying unhooked and kite fully depowered, what you get? Right, this f#cking depower line with plastic buckle just near your face. It hit my face 2 times during this 1 hour demo.

When you have in above the bar, you simply don't interact with it at all (unless you want to trim your kite down).

imo if you have the depower rope fully pulled in, meaning there is a foot of hanging rope, you have the kite rigged wrong or you need a smaller kite. I have a full quiver or RPMs and personally if I have more then a couple inches pulled in I will come in and change kites. Initially I was not a fan of the below the bar depower, but once I got used to how it worked I have no problem with it.

self landing on any kite is easy if you understand what needs to be done. Once all the tension is on one line ex ,single center line, you can walk up the line to the kite. Works on any make or model kite I have ever flown.

Well, not everyone likes to have several kites pumped up on the beach and that's what the trim is for. Unfortunately dandaka is right, with the trim pulled in it flaps around and is annoying, even on liquid force bars where you can clip your leash to the rope.

Below the bar depower is also a pain in the ass, I always had to ride at my kite and pull with all my strength to pull in some depower, and letting it out meant I needed a really good grip or I'd be at full power.

I don't really see the point in this after playing with above the bar systems like best/cabrinha/flexi, so much cleaner and easier to use.

if you have a foot of depower rope flapping around you are overpowered plain and simple, too big of a kite. There is a huge difference in performance in a properly powered kite and an over trimmed one.

There is technique involved using the below the bar depower smoothly. True , you can pull down all day with all your might and it won't release(its designed to do that) but if you pull out then down/or power up then its gravy.

i love my rpms, especially when properly powered

.....I ride Vegas 2012/10 12/9/7m² most of the time for unhooking. My small experience with RPM 2012 (1 hour demo of 9m²) and talking with other guys gives me this.

Cons.

1. Shit bar construction in general (comparing to North). Under bar depower setting is awful. I've seen one guy, who remade his 2 bars to make depower on top. Suicide attachment can't be released (as far as I understood).....

Oh, yeh... correct. There's a new invention by North about above the bar depower. And how nice it works :thumb: , super nice    I am impressed :bye:

RPM is certainly a great kite. Have slingshot dealt with the problem of the trailing edge flapping itself to destruction?

The RPM review on this site seems to be taken from a reseller, but apparantly many people like the kite (21 likes on FB).
