Let's say for example you put Slingshot kite and bar down next to an Epic kite and bar. (I don't own anything made by Slingshot). Would anyone be brave enough to suggest that the quality and construction is better on the Epic? It's a mid range kite and reasonable for the price, anyone claiming top quality build or materials is either misinformed or is affiliated with epic.
Also. A 2 season old kite that is still crispy. This points to one of two things. Either the kites have had very little use or the poster is telling fibs most likely due to their affiliation to Dimitri and Epic.
Another point. Who cares who I am? I'm just sick of these ridiculous claims, I read one "review" that stated his Epic 14m was quicker that any 12m or 10m he had ever flown!

Not affiliated and they're not new, I've used them alot. Just saying they aren't like a paper towel after a couple seasons like some lower end stuff I've had.

No, what you said was that they were still crispy, I read it. Now they're not like a paper towel. I'm confused which one is it? This is exactly why people have stopped believing the Epic hype, it's just not true. I don't believe any kite will still be crispy after 2 years of heavy use let alone one of mid range quality. O&B. Strange that you would edit your posts, I can't work out why you would do that. I'm not flaming or what ever you accused me of I'm just pointing out that Epic kites are not top quality as claimed. There is nothing wrong with calling them what they are and there is nothing wrong with the kites. The thing is if you put your product out there claiming to be a premium brand and it isn't then expect people to call you out on it.

Hello Mr. "KevinTheKiter", Thank you very much for your inputs on the EPIC kites. I try to bring the best quality on all the EPIC kites with the best performance and the best customer service. SLINGSHOT has also an incredible quality on their kites and I will give you that, same thing with NORTH, NAISH, and few other brands. The factory that makes EPIC kites makes also kites for 18 other kite companies. So when I asked them to use this material on my kites instead of the other material other kite companies use, they look at me like I am a crazy Greek. Actually the owner of the factory always tells me: "Mr.Dimitri this is very very expensive we have to place a special order for these materials...". So my reply to him is that I don't care, I want the best quality for my kites. This is also one of the reason why we can't afford DISTRIBUTORS because we don't make enough margin when we sell to Dealers. So again if you can let me know what seem to be the problem on the quality of the kites I will be very happy to hear about it so I can make it even better.
P.S. I use all my prototype kites until I trash them to see how long they last. I still have few 2010 prototypes with me and they are still holding very nice. They are not crisp but they still are in good shape. On few of them I had to change few struts, and patch few holes because of wearing on the sand and pumping them on the road. Actually some one saw one of them and wanted to buy it from me. I told him "NO" because these are my testing kites. Any way, I think the best thing for you to do will be to buy a (3G) EPIC kite and put it to the test. Then in 2 or 3 years come back and post what you think about the quality.

Are the Epic kites the same quality in terms of material and build as North, SS, Cab, Naish, LF?

Quote: Poster: KevinTheKiter Are the Epic kites the same quality in terms of material and build as North, SS, Cab, Naish, LF? Well this depends. Are you talking about the Canopy material, the LE or Struts material, the Bladders material, the way they sew the kites, the thread they use, the printing they use, the EVA they use on the struts and LE, the lines they use, and so on.... You have so many things that are involved in building a kite. Most of the companies will use the same canopy material. But other companies like Cabrinha use another factory and make their own canopy material. Again, we are not cutting corners. We want the best quality on our kites with the best performance. And all this is because we know how it feels to get a good product in your hands. Don't you!!!!!!
