2008 rebels are great kites......stilll miss mine ! great low end, great top end, simple, light, fast, no one pump (=+++++).......10m is great, 7m fantastic. Valves properly suck, but they're easy to replace. You wouldn't go wrong buying one of these at a good price. Thats what I'd hunt out if you're on a tight budget.....

hello thanks for all your thoughts, I am actually a female rider looking for a light wind kite. I weigh around 55kgs and already have a 2007 takoon enova 4 line 7m which leaves we wanting more power on lighter days. Do you think this is a good option - I can buy a 2007 rebel for aroud 350$us complete or 2008 for around 400 complete $us.

Thanks

Def go for 2008 reb very user friendly kite, had a wave session on borrowed 9 2008 couple weeks ago,one of the best sessions ever had, great kite as good as anything out there, much better boosting than 2007.i always reckon 2008 was better than 09,complete and in good nick it worth 400 hope this helps Tony.

ps Bar pressure is way lighter on 2008 reb

I own 3 North kites from 2007 including a Rebel (though of a larger size); have not had any general reliability or quality problems with them. So if you like North kites in general, this particular year should be fine too.

Most of fixing I have done on my kites has been related to valves (some air leaking out between a valve and bladder, some cracks in the main inflation valve). Also (if you use them for snowkiting) some bar components (chickenloop, donkey****) can easily break in cold.

For a light wind kite, def go with the 2008. I have owned both 2007 and 2008 rebels, and while both were great kites they were also quite different beasts. The 2007 was lightning quick, high bar pressure, not so good low end. The 2008 had much power, better low end and lighter bar pressure. Slower though.
