Hi guys!

I am 85Kg and ride a 135 x 40 twintip usually in chopy conditions at 15 to 30 knots. I already have an Ozone Edge 11m and looking to get a smaller ozone C4 to replace my old ozone instict sport 9m :thumb: .

What is the REAL windrange of C4 :o ??

Which size do you think is the best so that I will not have a gap???

Thanks!!!!!

In my opinion a 3m gap in C4's is maximum, 4m is to large and 2m is greedy but nice if you can afford alot of kites.

A 11m Edge pulls similar to a 13m C4 or maybe a 12.5m if they had one. It's defiently more grunty than a 12m C4.

So long story short is get a 10m C4 or 9m minimum.

This is all based on the 2011's I have not flown the new 2012's, which apparently are more powerful?

In the past, I had 8m and 11m C4's, and the 11m was not powerful enough so I purchased a 12m. Then I found out the 4m gap was to large even with 2 boards so soon I will have 8, 10, 12. Which might turn into 8, 10, 13 or 8, 10, 11m edge someday.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Skooner Jr !!!

Actually thats what I had in mind.. I'm between 9m and 10m cause I was thinking that it wouldn't have much low end...

great advice about the gap as well!

The 9m will do fine from 20kn to 32kn, i even had it out with 35kn on short lines with 70kg's.
With the 2012 C4 i can get away with 17/18 knots.

I think you should get the 9m because of it's speed and good low-end and high-end, 8m could be a little small and a 10m is not that fast and you will get overpowerd earlier.

2012 feels more solid in the air, little more hangtime and more grunty in lower windspeeds but not big difference in the low-end.

I ride 10m c4 16-30 knots. 82pies. its damn fun 20-25.

I used an 11 edge 10cm combo. but found i wanted to go out more on the c4 than the edge.

so the 11m edge has been turned into a 13m edge.

i also at had a 9m c4 which had a range 20-33ish. but i wanted more grunt in the 20-25 range so the 10m suits that bill nicely.

PS edge and c4 are completely different fish.edge is slow, powerfull and glides like no tomorrow. c4 is fast dynamic but had bugger all glide until the top end of its range.

I fly 9/13 Fuels and have no problem with the gap. If I'm not mistaken the C4's are supposed to have a little better of a range. I have not flown them though as we don't have a dealer near by. I guess it really is just a matter of how much kite you want to hold down in the high end. I can push my 13 into the low 20's and still feel comfortable to unhook and do rolls and raleys no loops or handle passes though.

Remember if you can Try before you BUY.
