I am looking for kites that I can experiment different screen printing techniques on, in hopes of finding ways to do cost effective custom graphics on kites.

Have you had much luck with the screen printing? I'm looking into the possibility of having some custom kites made up for a charity event but can't really source many people/companies that do it..

Very nice looking bags! :thumb:

I did similar with the shade canopy, which started out as a "Coleman Event Shade 15". I don't think they are still making them.

I ended up cutting up 3 or 4 kites (sorry Slingshot :P ) and sewing the panels along the existing seams. It worked out pretty good, despite my lack of sewing skills, tape, or quality sewing machine.. Had I used tape on the edges/ seams and then sewn it, it would have turned out better. Either way it was a fun challenge and I still have bags of old material/ struts, etc. for future projects.

I have a bunch of crazy kite designs I want to try, but only if I can purchase some old kites for $10 and cut them up for parts.
