Airush 2012 New Sectors -- 54, 60, and 66cm V3

Postby droffats » Fri Mar 16, 2012 1:25 am

Shameless pimping here. I have ridden the 52 and 60 since they came out in version one two years ago and we sell them. And we've got our order in for these already. Airush finally is showing the videos:

Heya!

The Sectors are pretty insane especially the new sizes. You can read more about the design right here: http://www.airush.com/blog/blog/airush- ... -sector-v3

What happened to the Sector One Design based on the V2? Is that still happening or are they just going forward with the V3?

V3 looks good, still haven't gotten a chance to try one of these out. Best's tri fin freerace board Kiaola is delayed until at least July. When is the V3 available?

Hey Davesails7!

The Sector One Design is out http://www.airush.com/blog/blog/airush- ... ss-release
- Southern Hemisphere had a really good start in areas like South Africa and Australia. I believe the One Design has touched down in many Northern Hemisphere areas.

The V3 is a continuation of development while the Sector One Design keeps the same design for 2 years and updates based on the most current development. This also eliminates the ever so expensive task of updating your board every year to stay competitive against your opponent.

The Sector V3 boards will hit most stores by mid/late April, a few countries have already sold out before arrival but its best to chat to your local Airush retailer.

Hope this helps.

Cheers

In what sort of wind can the average rider go upwind on a Sector with a 12m?

I am 75 kgs +/- depending on how good the beer tastes. I usually ride a 12m + Sector 60 between the 7-10 kts and stay steadily powered and hiking upwind. I really enjoy using a 12m on the Sector, it seems that when I watch Sector riders youtube videos, a majority of the riders are using the 60 in 7-10kts with 12m and 14m and they look a bit bigger than me!

Cheers

@Schmidy Thanks for the reply, I am definitely looking into a freerace type board. Seems to make alot more sense than buying a big kite :thumb:

I had a sector 60 which I was rding with a 13m Lithium LW and very often I was the only one on the lake; 7-10 knots no problem. I weigh 165 pound which is 75kg. A really fun board. I sold it because we have a lot of big rocks under the water at my spot and the water is shallow. If I was living near of the ocean I would get another one right away.

I liked it better with a 12 or 13m kite than with a huge kite; a lot easier to get it going with a couple of power stroke. And once going you dont need a lot of power. I Tried it in light wind with a big Speed 3 kite and really liked it better with a smaller tube kite.

Really a nice and fun product.
