There are quiet some discussions around what is better for the wave...straps or strapless?
Both parties have their arguments...let's see what you guys think!

I added also the option to vote 2 times, this way you can also say what you want to see in the KSP world tour.

And comments are always welcome!

Ride whatever u want even a twintip, its not what u ride it is what u do with it. Board snobbery is just what it is, snobbery. Kiteboarding is becoming more snobby by the day what with some of the wakestylers and strapless riders thinking they are high and mighty (prob influenced by an older generation.. sad), forgetting their roots and respect for others. I don't think some people in some places have an appreciation that different tools are good for different conditions cos they just don't get them where they live maybe. If it's all reasonably steady wind and sub 30 knots where you live u don't count with your opinions if judging others.

But in competition I don't think they should be mixed, it's making a very subjective sport into an even more subjective one, and I don't want to go to the effort of entering if I think I might get skunked by someones personal opinion (judges ie huge critical tailslide strapped vs average strapless floater... ). 8- 10ft (hawaiian) you can still ride strapless no worries if the faces are smoothed out by the wave, but i think this is where strapped may have it's own niche in huge and or bumpy stuff where control in hard, look at Jason Polakow in huge waves - he actually does something good, very good and straps are apart of that. Also if you got non kiting ASP judges involved too that is totally lamer than lame and wastes teh riders time, you can't get educated being told about kiting, you gotta be an accomplished kiter to judge fairly and there is no other way. Do the ASP judging course sure, but you gotta be an accomplished kiter in the discipline.

i don't know if they do double elimination in wave but they need to if not. Single elimination is selfish towards the lower ranked riders, sometimes with no chance whatsoever of getting through a round due to how they are grouped in heats. So many times you get better riders ranked higher lower than worse riders just because of this and i know this pisses riders off. Lower ranked riders want to earn a proper placing, no a lottery result. It's extra effort to run but considering teh effort the riders put in I reckon it is only fair.

full on day of kiting heaven today :-)

Whenever I see a foreign strapless rider, and not riding my strapless myself, I fear to get a religous narrowminded preach about this and that :x YAWN

You miss the option: Strapless and strapped should be two different categories.

Many in this forum would like that it seems, and scoring would be easier and no conflicts....

Although, I dont think this will ever happen, as the kitescene is too small for having both separate - so both will be allowed and the best rider wins, I think.

This is also what the riders want it seems - choose whatever they feel for and ride together 8)

Both styles are awesome - but quite different - huge ups and downs of both :naughty:

I AM SO GLAD TO SEE THAT POLL :P

SUP"ING NEEDS TO HAVE FEET FREE :P
SKATEBOARDING NEEDS TO HAVE FEET FREE :P
SURFING NEEDS TO HAVE FEET FREE :P
THEN THERE IS RADICAL SURFING AT JAWS WITH STRAPS :D

WINDSURFERS DON'T EVEN BRING UP THE SUBJECT OF STRAPLESS :nono:

HOOKIPA : SUPER STRONG SIDE SIDE OFF WIND GOING AT MACH SPEED :thumb:
JAWS : GIANT WAVE WITH SUPER BUMPY CHOPPY FACES GOING AT MACH 1 :thumb:
GORGE: HAS HUGE SWELLS , NUKING WINDS , SMOKIN CHOPPY WATERS :thumb:

IN ALL THOSE RADICAL WIND/WATER SERIOUS RIDERS KNOW ABOUT STRAPS
A MUST AND NO ONE WOULD MAKE IT STRAPLESS AND PUSH THE LIMIT

OTHERWISE TWINTIP STRAPLESS WOULD ALSO BE THE WAY BEST TO RIDE
STRAPLESS LANDBOARDING WOULD ALSO BE THE BEST WAY TO RIDE
STRAPLESS KITERACING WOULD BE BEST WAY TO RIDE

WAKEBOARDING BINDINGLESS WOULD BE THE MOST POPULAR WAY
SNOWBOARDING BINDINGLESS WOULD BE SO POPULAR
STRAPLESS IS REALLY A MINORITY WORLDWIDE FOR FAST MOVING BOARD SPORTS

DEEP DOWN WE ALL LOVE TO GO SUPAFAST , KILL IT AND GET HUGE AIR

OUR FEET AND BRAIN ARE HAPPIER WHEN THEY ARE SECURE ON A BOARD

TREAT YOURSELF WITH A HUGE STRAPPED JUMP OFF A STEEP WAVE FACE
TWEAK THAT TABLE TOP JUMP LIKE A PRETZEL 30 FT HIGH AND SMILE :D

OOOPS! :o I GOT CARRIED AWAY
MY ANSWER IS "STRAPS" 8)
