This thing is too optimistic.

India should always be Prey to the wind gods, even in March.

There should be another color for, "It's fucking hot, so there are consistent thermals. But unless you are a bulemic runway model they won't help you get upwind."

I'm going to have to agree with Chicken with that wind chart being off. I would head to western Sri Lanka for the July and August to ride the SW monsoon winds. I believe that would give you the best wind as it gets squeezed between India and Sri Lanka. I lived in Myanmar for two years, traveled most parts of SE Asia and never was impressed with the wind. Only time I did use my 10 meter on the Bay of Bengal was in late August on the back side of a monsoon storm for 45minutes. The regions an outstanding place to travel and enjoy but not to kite unless you are 50kg

I don't know whether you consider Turkey as Asia or Europe (but definetly in Asia physically), i would recommend you to pick Gokova Bay. Great spot with Thermal convection winds, shallow and warm water, 98 percent wind predictability within the period mid may-end of september...Starting with 6 knots at around 8-9 in the morning,15 knots after 10, picking up to 18-20 knots in midday, and gradually decays to 0 knots with the sunset...You wouldn't have any excuse to progress yourself in this spot.

can't help my self sorry, from this chart Just go to Taiwan! now the forecast for Chumphon Thailand where i have spent quite some time are very optimistic or let's say wrong. You get wind there from mid october to mid January and Then .....u wait.
I have been around Hua Hin and the wind is always a bit stronger than the forecast says due to Thermic... But as the Charts say , you got to be lucky... From encounters with guys staying in India ( coming to kite in Thailand) india seems to be even less windy than Thailand.
One place that is not on the Chart is Srilanka ( west coast above negumbo), it blows there from may until mid august which is the end of the season. Check it out.

Lanka is great, except there is just nothing else to do there and very little infrastructure. There are now a few new resorts/kite spots opening up. They are quite expensive for the region charging >100$ a day but that might seem cheap to you if you are used to Maui. If you want a very quiet vacation then Lanka is good.

Thailand sucks for kiting, period. You really gotta get lucky. I'll still keep going back because it's great in every other aspect for a vacation, but I'll bring my golf clubs instead of kiting equipment. If its windy then I'll rent.

I haven't been to Taiwan so will withhold judgement. I'd love to go. Just haven't had the time yet.

Indo sucks for kiting - is great for everything else.

India sucks for kiting and pretty much sucks for everything else. But if you want cheap and you don't mind living like a 3rd worlder then it is ok. Otherwise India is pretty expensive actually.

Gokovo - there's a place on my list. I'm thinking of hitting it up in May but might just be lazy and go to Egypt instead. That place has it all. Good wind, cheap but good accomodation, loads of slutty russian chicks.
