Hi!

Does anyone know about the low end on the Nobile 50fifty 2012 kite? I'm really interested in ordering one, but I'm not sure about the sizes. I'm 90 kilos and I use a Nobile 50fifty 140x41 board.

Should I go for 14 meter or 12 meter as my biggest kite? I wanna be able to go out in winds from 7-8 meters per second.

Any other opinions about the kite by the way? Do you have to be a really good freestyler or is it enough to be a pretty advanced freerider?

Hey, i demoed 50/50 10m and loved it. It is a serious kite, agressive and fast. Jumped great, created a lot of energy while moving thru the window.
I flew it in gusty 20 mph and felt it had very good low end in lulls for this kind of kite (c shape, short bridle, no pulleys) but would need more time on it to be sure.
At you weight you migh go with 14/10 combo. I'm not a freestyler but for aggresive freeride it is great.

Thanks a lot for great info Kuczwas!!

Sounds like it's a very fast kite, so then I probably don't have to worry about the 14 meter being too slow. I like to be well powered up so I guess I should go for the 14-10 combo instead of 12-9. Even though 4 meters sounds like a big gap between 14 and 10..

The board is just amazing!! Smooth through chop, awesome direct pop, soft landings and just as great as an all-rounder as a pure freestyle machine!

How's the build quality? Will it stand some wear and tear and get smashed into the water when I try my kiteloops but constantly fail? :D

Hey,

It is a Mag review so take it for what it is worth but I'd say it is pretty accurate as far as the flying characteristics.
They say it is stable, fast and snappy and that is what I felt when i flew it.

A far as the construction, I did not really have a close look. I do own T5 kite and it is as well made as most kites now.
I liked the graphics and the look of 50/50 though, nice and clean.

Funny thing, I took a closer look at my buddy's RRD kite and it was almost the same as my T5, stitch for stitch... exactly the same construction. I guess there are just a few factories in China which make most of the kites out there...

Haha, yeah you're probably right!!
And as you say, today the quality and performance of most brands is good!

This kite has a very good low end. The 12 m. moves like a 10m.
So, you will have not problems with the speed of the 14 m.

I haven't tried the little 50fifty sizes, but after testing big ones, I'm afraid that little ones are too fast.

The low end I have tested the most is with the 12m. / 80 kilos and you can be sure that with 12-13 and a normal sized board, you'll have "good" pop (pop at least) when unhooking and enough power to have a funny session.

Yes, the 10m I flew caught me off guard at first, very fast kite.
Plenty of power for a 10. Especially when moving...

IMO it's a strange thing with the 50fifty kite :-? If you look at earlier posts about the kite, kuczwas is almost the only person to comment the topic and who has demod the kite. Are there other good/bad experiences?
