I am looking for good warm, flat water locations for a beginner kite trip from July-Sept...does anyone know what the following are like? Would be great for first hand knowledge as I have been reading up on websites and often the websites selling their locations just say it's great all year round!

Egypt (which spots?)
Cape Town
Fiji
Sri Lanka
Zanzibar
Cape Verde
Fuerte Ventura
Others?

Any recommendations for places with beginner friendly people would be appreciated.

Thanks

On another forum I saw a post that listed best locations in the world for wind by month. It is a very cool list. Not sure if im allowed to post it, so if not just do a google search for world kiting calendar

Egypt has the best set up for learning to kite that I have seen and can be much cheaper than other holiday destinations. If you can fly there cheaply and are serious about learning to kite stay at someplace like the "Magawish" in Hurghada. It's your typical soviet style seaside resort but this actually manages to be quite cheerful.

Something like 60 US per person is the all inclusive price there that time of year.

For 10 dollars a day you get to store your equipment, someone to help with your launches and landing, and get rescue service if you need it. If you are learning, this is very handy because it means you don't need to be so nervous.

Lanka is also quite good - you'll need to stay with one of the operations there. They charge about 60 euros per person. There is nothing to do there aside from kite however. Imagine a place with just about zero infrastructure. Don't go there with someone who is not kiting. I can speak from experience that KiteKuda runs a decent operation with good instructors. I noticed their students progressing very well.

I live in Papua new guinea and that is in the middle of our kiting season here. We get south easterly trade winds that are super regular. 18-30 kts everyday. You only need one kite here... A 9m.

We have a few spots, but our local beach is onshore wind over a shallow reef. Very similar to Bulabog beach in Boracay, just smaller. We have quite a few beginners here so I'd go far as to say that it's a beginners spot. PNG is a very interesting place but not for everyone. Not sure if it's your cup of tea, but you are welcome to visit. I'll show you around and introduce you to our little kiting community. Send me a pm if you're interested.
