Cabrinha 2010 kites: Sb X Xbow, question...

Postby konetoniolo » Mon Apr 09, 2012 4:03 am

guys,

I love old school ridding. I've been trying to trade my 2010 12m SB kite. Im looking for a bigger kite. I have a offer for a 13m Crossbow. Both 2010... Both have no repairs in the kite, dont know about blader repairs on the Cross...

IS this trade worth it?

If you are looking for a bigger kite then I don't think this is the trade you want. I fly Xbows 2010 and 2011. Due to the 7 strut construction the kite does require a little more wind to perform, it is also a much slower turning kite than the SB. When powered properly they do jump VERY well.

In 2010, there was a huge difference in low end between the 12 and 14m SB's. The 13m Crossbow had killer bar pressure that year and in my opinion was not a lot of fun to fly (although they made it much better in 2011).

If you are looking at 2010 Cabs, its the 14m SB you want for sure.

If you love old school go bigger! Im 80k main kite is a 16m dyno and 14m rebel. I have an 11m rebel but never use it.

16m to little over 20kns
14m 20-30k
11m the moon

13m in any kite will not give you the hangtime unless you have the wind. 22-25+

Kites now have such a great wind range you can ride a much bigger kite. Dont forget the board. If you going old school and big kite go small on the board this will help you control the power (128).

Harness with adjustable hook point is really important. When its really kicking and you have a big kit out you will need to lower you hook point to hold the power, then go really big lol
