You are almost there.....
1.- when u r just starting to go down pull hard with your front hand to bring the bar to your hip.
2.- point your board a bit more downwind and lay a bit more down your shoulders to pass the bar.
3.- chan!

Guys, how low should be my kite? I thought "low" means "45° and less", not "as low as possible". Do I get it right?

This morning I tried to jump raileys with kite very low (like 25-30°) and it was too difficult to leave water. I get almost no vertical lift, only very powerful horizontal yank that gets my body imbalanced, board with legs don't fly up as they should in railey position. The only option is to get big speed, but still I have very strong horizontal pull and speed, it looks impossible to make rotation after railey.

Should I keep trying raileys on 25-30° until they become perfect? Or 40-45° is enough?

45º is ok, just remember to give the bar a pull down and towards your front hip to start the rotation. This will also prevent kite going up. In your video you almost have it, your kite seems like at 11.30 while doing the raley part, put it around 45º and it will be ok.

speedyRider, thank you for clarifying this :thumb: I always start with 40-45°, but often pull kite up after unhooking, I will work on this.

its almost impossible to railey at 11.30, I've tried it once when learning to do unhooked sent jump

If you follow your lines in your videos the kite is very high, around 11.30 or 11 at least

it's more the angle the kites at when your trying to pass the bar that counts - you could take off with the kite 45 or even above as long as you tweak it down as you pull it to your hip...

have you tried just passing the bar on the beach or doing surface passes? even here it's well hard to grab the bar when the kites high...

other key thing is go back a few steps and just try popping hard and trying to yank the bar to your hip - after a while you'll get a feel for when that slack 'moment' is...

keep going - you're close :thumb:

kite steady through trick at 20-30 degrees.

big one I forgot. try to touch your passing arm shoulder to your new rear leg knee. your upper body is too straight. which doesnt allow your arm to fold. tie a bar up or do it on the beach and you'll see how you need to be folded and twisted at the waist in order to allow your arm to twist and fold against your back (knuckles to back)

Vlad, that's is a very informative post. I wish we had more trick videos for troubleshooting like yours.

I might start doing the same as well.

I have the same problem as you. As soon as I load the lines with the kite at 45 for the railey the kite goes up right after I leave the water. I started looking at the kite during the takeoff to keep it from going up and it helped quite a bit. When railey is properly done you should have some nice slacks to nail your trick.

Please post a clip when you get it nailed. So close!!!

good luck

If the kite is going to 12 then your pulling harder with your back hand when you load up. Either pull evenly with both hands when loading or you can flick your wrist after you release your edge to stop the kite. I find that the more powered I am the less likely the kite will go to 12. All so you really need power to get slack in the lines after you pop.

here are my attempts. still can't get it all the time but they are still super fun to do. once i landed a blind judge doing one of these off a wave kicker.

on a side note. sometimes when i attempt these super powered, when i rotate my hand behind my back the force pulls my hand over the top of my head. can't be good for my shoulder but it feels pretty damn good. i have no idea what it looks like or what it would be called though. any ideas?
