Hey, i go out to have fun too, and could care less about how cool I am.

I do however care about the social aspect of kiting, which is pretty much non-existent around here for us under 30. Compared to all the different sports i've been doing, kiteboarding is definetely the lamest in that aspect.

What i'm really saying is, i need more people to join in on the after-kite smoking session like the drug addict i am. Smoking weed alone isn't as fun.

So, respect for everything and projects for everything, simple as that! And let's hope for a nice video from the SSS, even if they don't get that funding. The idea is good for sure.

These cats should look to the industry for funding as they will be the ones who benefit from this project. To think you and I should fund these guys is the dumbest thing I have ever heard of, like they are the arbiters and gatekeepers of kiting? who says? Is this a late April fools day joke?

Now Toby's Airtime is worth supporting, you actually get something for your money! Instruction and information "we" can use to get better at what we do. Handles passes bore me to death and are the least interesting part in kiting. I know all about how technical they are, but if you really want to grow this Sport, go big like Toby B and watch peoples jaws drop!

I am pushing one way, which has not been pushed for a long time, which is sad, since these tricks can only be done in kitesurfing...that's whats makes them unique, and not a copy.

I don't have to do this DVD and personally I wouldn't (too expensive to produce and taking a lot of quality time on the water), but I am doing it because I get so much feedback from many people being bored about what is currently going on in kiteboarding. I want to inspire them and give them ideas to try new tricks and push the level of hooked riding.

Maybe that is also the idea of the SSS video, which is good! I just wonder which gets more interest. For sure the Airstyle DVD will be unique and one of a kind, as long as the sport exists!

BTW - just landed a Moon Walker ! :dance:

If you dont care about being "cool" or "legit" and don't really give a shit, how come you point your toes in your tricks? That must be both cool and legit in your opinion right?

I like the idea of a high def video on any discipline. A few comments on the approach though:

I love that you are trying to crowd fund. Awesome, but if you want to drum up stronger support it may be a good idea to have the folks that directly benefit from the video to contribute. That would include the kite companies, REAL, the riders, and the director/creator. I don't see any of these names on the contributor list. I would be much more inclined to support if the industry itself was supporting.

Most documentaries are self funded and lose money. I think it is a shame, but it is the truth.

This is coming from one of the people you so fondly describe as an "old" guy @ 34 years old. CEO of an engineering company who loves kiting.
