Pretty much all kites relauch best when they are allowed to tip onto their back a bit. not completely, but moreso than when sitting LE down and dragging you down wind. Just as a 5th line is used to tip the kite onto its back to one corner can catch wind and pull the kite toward the side and eventually up, shortening your front lines either by manually pulling on em or shortening at the trip strap is gonna get the kite a bit more onto its back and into the air with less effort. A good rider with a 5th line can get a kite to peel up in way way less wind than someone on a 4 line kite that they cant get partially onto its back.
Who else remembers that you once had to swim toward the kite to get this to happen so you could catch a tip with the wind. So old school its forgoten.
