I'm kinda talking through my Fake Feet here :

But i Think the 2011 and 2012 Edge is nearly the same .
The 2010 is a 4-line also but has 7 struts and a Smaller diameter Leading Edge bladder
than the 2011-12 ?

I purchased the 2010 ; thinking it may have a higher speed range than the new ones
with there 5 struts & bigger LE .

ANYONE Know for sure on this ???

Bille

I own the :
2008 -- 11m and 13m Edge
2010 -- 13m Edge
All have 7 struts ; the 2010 13m is Definitely slower than my 2008 13m Edge.

Sorry my edge experience is with 2009 11m edge , 2010 13m and 11m edge.

I haven't flown the 2011,2012 (which is the same kite) but its better in every way.... or so i was told by Matt Tagart.... I'm only presuming that the bar pressure is similar.

Bille. yeah i can hold the edges to higher than i have listed but its not fun for me any more. my definition of overpowered is when i have to pull the trim strap to reduce power. I don't fly round fully trimmed I have smaller more fun kites to use if it gets to that point.

Teabag,

You are good on a 2009 or 2010 Edge when it comes to light bar pressure. The basic characteristics of the kite (high aspect, big air, great hang-time, excellent depower) have not changed.

Okay, here is what has worked for my elbows.

1. I bought a Star Tool. I put lotion on my forearms and then use the tool for deep massage. Massaging my upper forearms actually helps the most, even though the pain was on the underside of my elbows. I usually warm up my elbows in the tub, use the Star Tool and then ice them afterwards. The Star Tool comes in aluminum or stainless. The aluminum version is what I bought and it works great. Yeah, I know if costs over $100, but it is far less expensive than similar tools that are used by PT's and Chiropractors.
2. I never wrap my thumbs around the bar while riding anymore.
3. I try to never over grip the bar. Keep your grip relaxed on the bar the entire time you are riding.
4. Do some exercises to improve your grip strength once your elbow is feeling better.

I really had to baby my elbow for a while. It seemed like every time they would start to feel better, I would injure them again. It has been 6 months since they really bothered me. I took a trip to Cabarete and rode every day, pain-free, no icing or massaging, so I think I am on the mend.
