If I remember my weather channel stats correctly, the early season Atlantic hurricanes almost always originate from atmospheric waves coming off the coast of Africa, but later season hurricanes are almost as likely (or more likely) to originate within the gulf. It seems like the early season storms have a greater chance of hitting Florida and the east coast of the US, and the later season storms hit the gulf coastal areas including Mexico. Do I have it correct? If I do, does that mean the later season storms might be more frequent, more intense, both, or do these factors not correlate very well with warmer watertemps? My guess is that you might get both more storms and more intense ones, but I'm not a meteorologist.

Hey Don,

When you're talking weather forecasting it's always about the odds:

70% chance of rain translates to 100% chance of rain in 70% of the forecast area...

As far where the bitch born? it hardly matters, what matters is if it's in your personal forecast area...

Point being, if you don't care for hurricanes get the f-away from the east coast, and Gulf of the USA.

Personally, I've selected a forecast area that's pretty much disaster proof, weather wise that is...

sure we get wind, not a bad thing (wink) and an Earthquake is still going to rattle my Hens but I'm pretty much ok with that...

PS. no biggie but,

I'm sure our Jr. Weather buddy meant born on the West coast of Elephant-land to continue on a general Westerly track...not go back to the East

you never can go home again...who said that?

Regards

Billie,

In an effort to get you up to speed

There's something you should know about me.

I just scan the posts for the topical info, and skip the emotional stuff...

I had to actually go back to see where you commanded me to stay out of your threads...

hope that explains how I offered a clarification of your text while disobeying your o' so emotional personal request.

Try just staying on topic, there's no war to wage---it's just a kitesurf site

Just thought you'd like to know.

thanks
fo
