guys considering this kite board. Best 135 Float Series Kite Board. Would this kite board be to small for a newbie like me? I am 170lbs, 5,8". Looking for kiteboard in Ontario waters, such as Wasaga Beach and Lake Ontario. So, I would say minimal choppy water and low winds. Can someon recommend a few kites for me, I am a little lost which board to purchase. I have a slingshot turbo 3, size 14M kite. I am looking for used, but really confused the ideal size I should look at or at least a narrowed down range I should be looking at.

If you have a T3 14M, you are in great shape for light wind.
So your main kite size below that would be 10M or 11M.
Epic Renegade 11M is a great kite for a new rider, but will be a keeper at any level.
It's powerful, fast turning, very forgiving in gusty inland lake wind, jumps great, very stable overhead and also happens to be a great kite for surfing.
Then eventually you can grab a 7M for high winds.
7/11/14 is a great quiver. 7/10/14 is also very good.
If you don't plan on kiting in high wind, you could go 9/12/14.
As far as boards go, a 135cm board length is good at your weight. 132-138 range is good.
Width is good around 41cm/42cm/40cm.
I have a friend who is on his third Best board, they keep delaming and Best keeps sending him new ones. So hurrah for their warranty policy and boo for their board.
I have two Shinn boards that are the most fun boards I have ever ridden.
One is 132X42, the other is 132X41...I weigh the same as you.

thanks for the tips. for now just using the 14m kite as I am new. Not sure how fast I will advance this summer to a new kite or smaller one? I guess it depends on time and hours on the water. I am a walk away from Lake Ontario so, hopefully I can get some good hours out there. Not sure for a newbie how quick you see one advance to a smaller kite? As for the boards thanks for the tips, at least now I have a range to look for.
