One thought - does it need to have such a bulky spreader pad? I find that since it is always pulled away from the body, the pad doesn't serve much of a purpose. Could the pad size and bulkiness be reduced in the future (atleast for the dyneema version; I understand the metal spreader bars put more pressure on the pad)?

Thanks for this post, is another proof that DYNABAR is the natural evolution of harness spreader bars and we think will become a standard in few years.

The pad is bulky because when you use dyneema slider the hook comes closer to your body and could damage you wet suit or worst your body. DYNABAR is supplied with dyneema and steel sliders, the pad satisfies both protection requirements.

I went out for a session today, the first for a little while without my V7......bloody hell, I can't believe how restricted I felt without it!

This 20mm diameter PTFE sheave is working a treat!

Its just not wearing out and just the right slipperyness!

OK so i didn't Shorten the cord, and the "Large" diameter pulley sits about 2 inches from the
padded spreader bar frame. I Like the distance it places my bar at center trim.

Is that placing too much stress on my dyneema rope ?
It appears to have ample clearance on the ends of travel !

Started using Dynabar ages ago, when they were V1 I think? Started with the basic pro-ride metal slider with the pronounced bend in the middle that centralized the hook strongly, then went to the pro-wave version that only had a small bend in the middle and less centering effect on the hook, and now ride the pro-race rope only version and would never go back to even the metal slider bar design. It feels completely natural to have the hook able to slide freely, and I think that this will be a standard feature of kitesurfing harnesses for intermediate and advanced riders soon.

DYNABAR V7 has a 13x22 pulley to be used with dyneema, I recommend not use it with steel sliders because it wear it and it will wear dyneema, plus the wideness at the extremities isn't enought. I said before and say again, the roller and pulley dont turn but slide because the area they touch steel or rope is too small. Actually we use new rollers 12mm diameter and PA only, they last one season for sure.
