Lol, too late. Its out there and being modded!
Hook Knife = Good Idea !
Hook Knife placed where "Frame can Bend it = BAD IDEA !!
Don't do that .

I got a pocket on the back of my seat harness for the hook knife ;
a place where i can reach it with Both hands.
OR
Ya can sew the sheath for the knife on the front of the spreader bar.

Assumption is your specialty subject!
NO -- i went & looked at My V-7 and noted that where you placed
the Knife could damage the unit. The Frame is located in that pocket.

Edit : After assuming that i may NEED my hook knife and getting to it
is gonna be important ; i'm gonna stick with the pocket in Back of the harness
like my early (( Da KINE -- FUSION has.

The New Da-Kine Fusion doesn't Have that pocket so i stuck my Hook Knife
on the spreader bar with some thread.

SO -- What if i'm getting drug down the beach on my stomach ? How do
i get to the knife ?? On the Back of the Harness seams easier, (maybe).

Don`t know where I got the idea from?

Its almost a standard.

Bille......grow up ffs!

I'm Not trying to get you,"All Worked Up". It was a legitimate question :

SO -- What if i'm getting drug down the beach on my stomach ? How do
i get to the knife ??
AND there's no reason for Ya to get angry because i asked a simple question.

SO -- How do Ya get to the knife on the V-7 when using the slider cord as your getting
drug down a beach ? The cord and pulley is gonna cover up the knife strap if your
getting drug Head First. Come to think of it; same thing's gonna happen if you
go sub-marine head first, the cord and pulley will cover up the hook knife handle
if placed in center top of spreader-bar.

You do anything you want, (Not telling Ya what to do). I'm gonna place my Knife on my
back like the old Da-Kine harness had . & when i go in the ocean riding waves ...
then i'm gonna place another one on my fore-arm or someplace else, haven't decided
where yet. That might make a, (Good / another) Thread.

Yes good subject for a other thread and I think there have been several threads in the past.

As for incorporating the knife into the spreader bar I think weasels idea isn't so bad, and if it works for him - cool. The operative word is "works". Few ideas are perfect, some are simply wrong. To be honest I always felt the hook knife in the back of the harness was not that great...imagine trying to reach back and pull that little thing out when you are getting dragged and slammed thru the water or over ground.

Also, the smaller hook knives are probably not well suited to cutting through the thickness of a kite leash. (We tested that once and it took almost 10 secods while standing on dry ground). SO make sure what you have will do the job you intend with it.

Heres a couple of my harness/knife setups. (I've had the knife pop out a few times while riding and "no" it has not been a problem or caused any injury/damage when this happened) Another friend of mine has his knife mounted to his vest...which I will try to get a picture of and post later this week.

(please note that in addition to the lanyard to the knife handle the sheath is also anchored to the harness as well.)
