Could you do a short review of these two LW kite? Low end, high end, relaunch, turning speed, jumping, hangtime, bar pressure,...
Hi Seb.I will try to keep it short ( i am not sure if i can)
Tested only in ocean surf on 5'7" directional quad.Water temp 77F air temp 81F.Weight 165lbs
Listen i can't give a low end number that will satisfy everyone (too many variables)
But i can tell you the difference for "power when parked" since i have flown other LW kites
XR2 19M needs 1mph more than the SP3 21. XR17M 2.0mph more than SP3 21
XR2 19M appears matched with the Dyno18. XR2 17M needs 1.5mph more than Dyno18
Those are just my observations and not set in any kind of stone
The XR2 LW's are sent with 3m extensions to add to the 24m Sensor bar lines (recommended)
Have not tested high end.
Have not tested relaunch
Turning speed is sooo impressive with small 52/45cm bar (supafast, fast, medium) with 17 or 19
Jumps in the maximum winds of 12mph had great pop, lift, float. Kiteloops were sooo easy
Bar pressure is nearly non-existent if you want it that way
3 settings on leading edge bridle ( supalight, light, medium)
Conditions were side-on to onshore winds between 8-12mph with 2-4 ft waves
Both kites drift very very well in such light winds when off the wind on waves
One of the best part is that the pumping is supaez ( say bye-bye electric pumps)
My lovely experienced kiting "better half" insisted to test how much effort it took to do so
Well she said the 17M needed 85 pumps and the 19M 100 pumps for 6.5 PSI
She is 5'2" 112lbs and never broke a sweat or got out of breath. She said: effortless
Intake and outtake are in the same place "bayonet style". 5 struts / one pump quick flow
The 17M is her kite.It has a lot of depower she says.Easy to reach/pull ratio depower control
Chicken loop is small + rotating safety system is short (total 6 3/4") so great for short arms
14-15mph will probably her limit she says
For myself probably 17-18mph on the 19M if the wind was to pick up while we were out
Well i obviously said a lot for a short review
The 17M is similar to many modern medium aspect LW kites that are fun to fly, fast turning etc...
But the 19M is a one of a kind and for those looking for max power and fast fun this could be it!
I am trying real hard to contain my excitement
