Ban on Kitesurfing !

New York State Parks have a ban on kitesurfing for all beaches.

We are unable to kite legally, which is not right, please help us to change this. The more people that sign, the easier this will be in the long run. Thanks for any help you provide, this will not be a one man job, I'm trying to do this so we can all enjoy the sport that we love. It's not fair that we cannot setup wherever we desire and go out for a session. Freedom is the basis of America and it's time to fight for our right to share the ocean as well. Please take a few minutes of your time to help save some kitesurfers the anguish of not being able to go out and do what we love. Thanks again !

We just had a kite go into Interstate 275 at the Skyway and I hear it caused a wreck.

If that doesn't get us banned, it will be the illegal businesses operating out there, and the ones who refuse to follow the most basic of rules that the land owners have.

I kinda feel like this guy- trying to do it alone. People here would rather blow off the problems than to demand these people quit risking their access. They just don't get it, when it's gone, it's 10x harder to get back, if at all.

I feel that local associations and a proactive, preventative approach is the only real hope for preventing bans.

One of these days we might all have to launch off of boats a bit offshore. Maybe just a kayak and a drift launch. It generally takes only one or two individuals to get a few hundred people banned from a location.
