Sorry, tried th core 17 VS Ozone Zaphyr 17 and felt better fun factor with the Zaphyr.
The low end was the same riding a Xenon La-luz 138/42 in about 9 K ..
Cheers

Thanks for great comment :)
Was it a Riot XR2 17 you tried with the recommended 3m extensions?

In any case if you have a chance demo a Riot XR2 19 on 3m ext.
It has significantly more power and i can make it turn just as fast as the XR2 17

if more brands could give their projected area for their kites and aspect ratio, that would be cool....

I tried the XR2 19m for the first time today.

I just not had the right board with me as I sold my Spleene DOOR this week and still waiting for a replacement.

Anyway I was able to do a few tracks (difficulty to go upwind) in below 10 knots. The powerstroke to get you out of the water is very good. The kite has very good turning speed for its size.

I am eager to test it more (and with better LW board) to have a better feeling.

The only thing I can confirm is this kite relaunch super easy (as the 13.5m). There is something with the shape or the leading edge that makes the kite stick to the water and reverse (unlike some other kites that slip on the water and fail to reverse)

I also had the chance to test a XR2 19m today and only positive comments. It was very light, 5-9 knots and I was not able to ride but had the chance to test the water relaunch that is super easy, the turning speed is impressive for it's size and no bar pressure like my Flysurfer :thumb: my friend who is 30lbs less than me at 165 was able to do some tack but only downwind. Even with my 21m I was not able to ride, just able to do some water start but the wind was 5-7 at that moment and warm air.

I am happy Seb that you had fun on the Riot XR2 19M (as they say in French "merci")
I have been out 3 days so far on theXR2 19M (not in a row)
I have been out 5 days so far on the XR2 17M (not in a row)

I only got those kites 10 days ago
All the sessions are in the ocean "small 1-3ft" surf on North Whip quad
Our south-east wind sea breeze kicks in at 5pm like clockwork lately

My wife just looooooves  the XR2 17M on her smaller Whip quad (she is 5'2" 110lbs)
She was out with me tonight doing forwards and did many easy downlooping jibes to toeside
The wind was 9-10 mph max We both stayed upwind easily

That sounds good!

Now, someone test it next to a PL Fury Lite 19 :thumb:

Hi SupaEz, I own a Riot XR 1 17. Is the XR2 really different? Is it true the second edition has much more depower? The italian importer told me there were few differences between XR 1 and 2 17 mts. because the original 17 came only few months before the XR2.

Thanks a lot!

Paolo

Thank you for your question but i really do not have the answer
I would trust the Italian importer about that
If it has bit more depower they must have changed something on bridle attachments points & kite AR

If you have a chance try one and you can then be the judge ( and that's what counts)
Have fun :D
