IMO, most kites today work. Kitesurfing is about having fun!! Who cares if one kite turns like a Mac truck and another one turns like a tree sloth and oh yea this kite is a 19M that turns like a 9M!! One bar is soft and one doesn't mess up your manicure!! If u weigh 240lbs vs 104 1/2 lbs, then If u have a Lick of sense put up a big or small kite. Is that such a hard decision?

anyone know any more details about this kite?!

looking at picking up a sub 10 to 16ish knot kite (@ 140lb) to take up the slack where the old 10 doesn't do any justice. Needs to be decent unhooked, preferably enough bang for basic wakestyle tricks under 10.

also any ideas on release?! coming in with the usual seasonal release im guessing.

I'm not sure about release but I got the impression that is exactly what it is for. I did not try it unhooked but will try if / when I get a chance again. I did ride it with boots tho very fun and controllable :)

:thumb: :thumb: Yes this is definitely not the ride 12. The Fly is bigger. The reason I say it is made for freestyle / free ride is the way it handles..it is as far away from the charger as it can be. I was out in glassy water, self launch easy. First I ride the surfboard strapless with it making a few runs down the line ,but light wind on shore not always the best wave riding conditions if you have a kite with you..but still fun. Mostly because there was power in the kite. It never fell from the sky which is a really good sign one of the spots where I ride where light wind usually means a lot of time in the water...

...then i figured well hell it feels like it has power so why not try the TT...so I did. My usual forward backward rolls with loops transitions worked like a charm. It had quite a bit of upwards pull and it provided plenty of time in the air. I don't really have enough time to say much about the wind range...I was alone out there. :-)

Now I've ridden both the 10 and 12 Ride too, but I really did not have enough time on the 12 to say anything intelligent about it. I did not set the Ride and Fly side by side so I guess so far what i can say about similarities is that the Fly pulls harder, and that both have 2 struts.

The 10 I had more time on. Pulls pretty hard. The jumps took me by surprise, got some real lift. Sure got some power to it. I really want to try the 8 too. The 10 I can see being a good kite for down the line riding. I'm pretty psyched to get more time on it tho.

:-)

Just our of curiosity. Why do you feel it is unnatural for a kite to not have a center strut? .... :)

Basic anthropomorphism. How natural is a guy without a center strut? :jump: :jump: :jump:
