That's interesting, so the trim strap alone gives you the same range as 2-3 knots plus the strap on other brands?

The rebels have a good wind range using just the depower strap, in my humble experience.

Also you know once you get past a certain amount of throw the kite is already flying 100% on the power lines, there is zero tension on the rear lines.

So adding additional depower does nothing. On my C kite this happens after you throw out the bar about 3 inches, you can add as much throw as you like, the kite is not depowering any more than that.

You could add additional pigtails on your rebel to make the rear lines longer but I think it won't add any more depower than what the kite already has using the depower strap.

My experience is different - all models (I have 2007, 2009, 2012) I move the back line to last knot in high wind and get even more awesome range from the kites while they still fly normally.

Depending on the range of your trim straps, you might just wind up with the same problem as edt mentions. Far better to just get a smaller kite and ride it fully powered ... unless you have no other options.

EASY answer: You get out yer scissors and trim off all the material you don't want to be there....

More complicated answer: Read someone else's answer

Hey Dyyylan - I've been on Rebels for years....like sarc, I also find that once I'm getting uncomfortably powered, lengthening the lines using the knots under the floats provides a meaningful increase in top end.

EDT - if you find yourself maxed out on a rebel, give it a try and let us know what you think.

I think the 2012 Rebels have two bridal adjustments? One on the tips for turning speed(fast/slow) and bar pressure. The other is at the fifth line to either flatten the kite out or make it more bucket shape to deal with each end of the wind range or speed up or slow down the kite?

Is that correct?

I know local people who had 2010 and 2011 Rebels and they all say the 2012 is just an awesome kite. That wing tip mod really made a lot of difference. The wind range of that kite model is just huge too.

A lot of people can get by with nearly just one kite(10 meter). They have an old 7m for nuking days and our wind really isn't good enough for any "light wind" kiting.
