The DV8 is similar to the Kipuna, but different shape, materials, and a few other tweaks, like no fin boxes and a grab-rail with more vertical on inside so easier to grab....also the MSRP price is $200 less.

Had a chance yesterday to try my new 6' DV8 - on-shore 12-16mph with 2-4' shorebreak - really enjoyed this first try with the board - very comfortable ride - still long way to go to gybe and tack properly but still will end up being my low wind and/or surf board - going toeside very easy - pointed much better than I had expected - able to use an 11m when always on a 14m - I weigh about 165# - previously briefly had first a "true" surf kiteboard (too slow, no upwind ability), then an early race model (terrible to turn, etc).

I'm not a rider for Litewave - I paid for board.

I got mine a few month ago and really enjoy the way it rides,
easy to handle and nice on the carving in waves etc.

Definitively recommend it to anybody.

Managed to demo the boards in Hatteras recently....loved the DV8

Got the footstraps in place and the thing is a great surfboard. Loves to turn. Normally, I ride with my back foot out of the strap when riding upwind, etc, but the thing is magical. Just jam your feet in the straps and your are in almost perfect position to do just about anything. I prefer quads, but understand why people like to loosen the thing up on the wacks and it does it.....SICK. I've been beating the shit out of this thing on Maui chop blowing 40 and no damage yet. Maybe Dave can comment on the wood core. It is pretty bouyant for a board with a recessed deck too.?

How has this board changed compared with the Litewave Quad Surf, which I'm still riding. It's really the only surfboard I've kited with, so I have nothing to compare too.

Compared to the quad-surf, the dv8 is more stable, wider in the nose and not as fast down-the-line on a big wave. It gets upwind better and works better in marginal conditions.

Litewave DV8 was out of stock for about 1 week, but 2nd shipment just arrived....5'7" and 6'1".

We have a few factory blems for $599.

Since how DV8 doesn't have a lot of float like other kite surf boards and isn't very wide how is it in light wind?

Love the great grab rail all the way around. Makes it soooo easy to handle both in the water and on the beach.
